Dominick & Daughters Construction Co. did a wonderful job in saving my very large barn, built in the 1890's. Gary Dominick is a genius at diagnosing exactly what is wrong with a big old barn and devising an non-intrusive way of correcting its ills. His work was efficient and his price was entirely reasonable. As a plus, Gary and his family are such nice people.

We contacted Dominick and Daughters in the beginning of the summer of 2012 after seeing their ad in the Akron-Corfu Pennysaver and getting a quote from a large Buffalo concrete company. We were not happy with the demeanor or the sales pitch of the salesman from the Buffalo company, and decided to get another quote. We prefer to give our business to smaller local companies anyway. One of the daughters, Jessie, came to look at the job, which was to repair crumbling walls on our exterior house and garage foundation, and to pour a concrete floor in part of our basement which had a dirt floor. She listened to what we wanted, took measurements, and informed us that they were working on a large project and would probably be able to get to us in July.
Gary Dominick (father) came to look at the job on July 2, and stayed with Jesse to do the foundation wall repairs. They returned on July 11 to pour the floor in the basement. They had rented a power wheelbarrow to pour the cement because we have a water line right where they needed to back a truck in, and the weight of the truck could have damaged the water line. When they got the power wheelbarrow, they found that the starter was broken. Undaunted by this hurdle, they poured the concrete through the basement window by hand using regular wheelbarrows. We had bushes around that window, and they were very careful not to damage them. Gary was very patient with our 7 and 9 yr old grandchildren who asked him multiple times when the concrete would be ready for them to put their handprints in.
Jesse returned on August 10 to finish the sealing of the glass block window from the inside, and to instruct us how to seal and paint the walls inside. She even brought the materials for us to do that!!
We were very pleased with the finished job, and glad that we had chosen a local family business for the work. If we need concrete work done in the future we will not hesitate to call them.
